We do not delete cancelled appointments after they've been scheduled for records and other purposes that I won't get into. It would be great if we were able to cancel an appointment, but still have an option to keep it present so we have a clear digital representation of its existence.
As it is now, if by chance we fail for one reason or another to notify a therapist of a cancellation, because we leave it on the schedule, they assume that hour of their day is taken when they check orchestra and cannot adjust their own daily docket accordingly. This doesn't happen often, but presents a very frustrating problem when it does. When they check their schedule online, if they can see clearly "oh, this one was cancelled", this problem would be eliminated.
In Status on the Manage Appointment Window we have the options/selections "Scheduled, No-Show, and Checked In". Please add a "Cancelled" selection to it with maybe something like a red circle-X as an indicator, like the purple circle-X for No-Show and blue circle-check for Checked In. That, to me, would be the easiest way to do it. Making an option to keep it present when clicking on the "Cancel Appointment" prompt under Go-Back/Save/Checkout on the Manage Appointment Window might be another way to go. But really I feel you should change that to "Delete Appointment" and add the former suggestion to the Status selections.
